About Victoria rowell

Victoria Rowell is an award-winning actress, producer, writer, international lecturer, and fierce advocate for foster care reform who has captivated audiences for over three decades with her talent, grace, and powerful presence. She has been recognized by 193 members of Congress for advocacy work on behalf of education, arts, foster and adoptive youth and parents as well as diversity issues.

Best known for her iconic role as Drucilla Winters on the beloved soap opera The Young and the Restless, Rowell reigned on daytime television for an incredible 17 years, earning numerous accolades and becoming a fan favorite for her fiery, dynamic portrayal. She also made waves as Amanda Bentley, a brilliant medical examiner, alongside Dick Van Dyke in the hit TV series Diagnosis: Murder, proving her versatility as an actress. Rowell was submitted for a Golden Globe Award, starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson in Home of the Brave (2006).

Other credits include Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and other series. Most recently, Rowell plays Evelyn in 2024’s Summer Camp opposite Alfre Woodard, Diane Keaton and Kathy Bates.

Her upcoming features include, Forgetting Christmas, Blended Christmas, A Christmas Miracle and Way Out of Bounds. She has been in multiple films, starring opposite Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, Jeff Bridges, Samuel L. Jackson, Beau Bridges, Forest Whitaker and more. Victoria's star power extends far beyond the screen. While she has shared the spotlight with legends like Eddie Murphy in The Distinguished Gentleman and Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber, her passion doesn't stop with acting. As a former foster child, Rowell has dedicated her life to advocating for foster care reform, inspiring countless individuals with her New York Times bestselling memoir The Women Who Raised Me. A true force of nature, she’s also a producer and a multi-talented author who continues to break boundaries in entertainment.

Born in Maine, Rowell was raised on a 60 acre working farm and learned classical ballet from a book. She eventually turned professional and performed with American Ballet Theater (ABT) II and other professional ballet companies. Rowell has two adult children, Maya and Jasper.
